Blast Furnace is a facility that produces hot metal by blowing hot air
into the bottom of it and inputting sintered ore, iron ore, coke and lime
stone into the top of it. Shinhan greatly has contributed to the growth
of Korean iron & steel making industry by being involved in the refreshment
of POSCO- 's No.1 BF and No.3 Dome Shell of hot stoves in Pohang
Steelworks as a supplier.
On the other hand, Compared with Blast Furnace, FINEX is an innovative
process which is based on the utilization of a wide range of iron ore
fines and non-coking coals, the lowest possible production cost of hot
metal and outstanding environmental compatibility.
Shinhan has participated in POSCO's Demonstration Plant in Pohang
steelworks of the process which developed for the first time in the world
and provided the main steel structure of for POSCO.
Recently Shinhan has supplied some facilities like M/S Vessel and main
steel structure of Melter Gasifier to POSCO's commercial plant of 1.5
million ton per year which is scheduled for start-up in early 2007 in
pohang steel- works.
